The presidential debate last night was done in a
Townhall format, which is McCain's style of choice.
Obama was looking calm and confident, while McCain was showing obvious stress, and sounded grumpy, and sarcastic. It was when McCain was talking about some energy bill that he did not vote for.....and he said "do you know who did vote for it?
That one". And he pointed at
Obama with a dismissive hand gesture. That looked really bad....
The immediate results were as follows:
NBC: 60% Obama, 40% McCain
CBS: 39% Obama, 27% McCain, and 35% McCain.
Can Obama ride through this winning trend through the election day? Obama is leading by 6 to 8 points now... Not quite. In this country, "race" still matters, unfortunately. When I see Obama leading comfortably by 10 points, and better results in Ohio, Florida, and Virginia, then I will feel more confident.
